PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPPORT STAFF DAILY JOB CLASSIFICATION POSITION TITLE: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS: Five years experience in the business affairs department of a school district or a comparable position in the private sector + Minimum of three years experience at the management level + Experience in planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the business services and budget process of a school district or business. + A School Administrator’s License, a degree in accounting or a related field, or a CPA is strongly preferred REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools JOB GOAL: To administer the business affairs of the district in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Prepare regular progress reports of the budget during the year, which will be a part of the agenda for the regular monthly meetings of the Board. 2. Gather data and other information necessary for preparation of the budget. 3. Assists the Superintendent in presenting to the Board the necessary information on the proposed budget and the millage needed to support it as prescribed by school law. 4. Maintain the financial and statistical records of the District. 5. Prepare the annual statistical report. 6. Supervise all buying and purchasing and examine all bills. 7. Recommend payment of all bills which have been properly processed. 8. Maintain all financial and business records of the District in safe keeping. 9. Supervise the receiving and recording receipt of all monies. 10. Serve as custodian of the vault and all its contents and make certain that only authorized individuals are allowed to have access to the records and permitted in the vault. 11. Prepare all warrants and secures proper signatures. 12. Work with the Pulaski County Treasurer in maintaining appropriate tax fund records and the receipt of those funds for the District. 13. Work with the local banks as depositories of the District's funds. 14. Maintain various funds, bank accounts, and investments. 15. Supervise the preparation of all payroll checks as well as the delivery of checks to all personnel of the District at the time specified in the payroll schedule. 16. Assist in planning any capital improvements, new buildings, or additions. 17. Supervise the financial operations of the Executive Director of Operations, Director of Technology Operations, and Director of Child Nutrition. 18. Direct the insurance programs for the District. 19. Supervise operation of the Accounting Department. 20. Assume other responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent.
