Chief Medical Information Officer Responsibilities:

Responsible for upholding the strong relationship of the medical staff and the information services department ensuring that communications are effective, and the interests of both groups are translated appropriately.Acts as an expert advisor to information services. In partnership with the applications team, responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of clinical care systems across the health system.Partners with physicians to contribute to IT strategic planning. Responsible for broad oversight of medical informatics, including supervision of the physician informaticists.Provides oversight for health system's telemedicine initiatives. Leads physician clinical technology adoption (hospital and BMG ambulatory) and contributes to EMR optimization priorities.Works collaboratively with other clinical leaders to optimize clinical decision support tools. Works collaboratively with other health system clinical leaders in the standardization of clinical practices, procedures and processes, identification and implementation of evidence based best practices, and system improvements to support clinical excellence.Promotes physician use of health information data exchange between BayCare and other providers. Leads the clinical system steering committee, a sub committee of the CIO council, ensuring that new IT systems are enterprise-driven with measures of success defined for service, outcome, and cost.Partners with the leader of the digital health council to bring new technology to the organization.

Qualifications:

Required: Doctorate – Medical Doctor, or Doctorate – Osteopathic MedicinePreferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Masters Business Administration Required: Minimum 10 years Physician Practice Required: Medical Board LicensePreferred: Medical License State of Florida
