Chief Nursing Officer Mille Lacs Health System - Onamia, Minnesota Organization Overview Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) is a comprehensive healthcare system that is tucked alongside one of Minnesota's greatest lakes and is located 80 miles from the Twin Cities, in Onamia, Minnesota. It is an independent rural health care system and serves 20,000 year-round residents of the predominantly rural area of Mille Lacs County. We also serve portions of Morrison, Aitkin, Crow Wing, and Kanabec counties and residents of the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Indian Reservation. Located near beautiful Mille Lacs Lake, we are also a convenient high-quality healthcare facility for weekend visitors and vacationers. MLHS is a community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare organization which consists of an 18 bed Critical Access rural hospital with 10 bed Senior Behavioral Health Unit and Level IV Trauma Center in Onamia as well as five Family Medicine Clinics located in Isle, Garrison, Hillman, Onamia, and Milaca. We also have two retail community pharmacies with highly qualified pharmacists and techs in Isle and Onamia to offer the breadth of care that our community requires. This thriving health system with its newly completed CAH hospital facility, seeks an experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide nursing leadership as we address today's and tomorrow's healthcare challenges. Summary The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is the highest-level nurse management position and a member of the executive leadership team. The CNO oversees all nurses and nurse managers to ensure consistency with Mille Lacs Health System's practice standards and institutional goals. Core Duties + Provide administrative oversight of all nursing operations + Ensure patient care standards through quality improvement and staff training + Meet or exceed regulatory standards for nursing and care delivery + Work collaboratively with Clinical Leadership Team to: + Maximize efficiency and quality in patient care delivery + Promote team-based care + Meet clinical quality improvement targets + Optimize medical team staffing + Innovate solutions to meet organizational priorities + Train physicians and other healthcare personnel + Participate in and lead quality improvement initiatives + Ensure proper nurse recruiting, hiring, onboarding, retention, and staffing procedures Qualifications + Graduate of accredited School of Nursing + Current licensure by MN Board of Nursing + Certifications: BLS and ACLS + Preferred: + Master of Science in Nursing or Nursing Leadership + Demonstrated management experience + Previous QA/QI experience Candidates should apply via our job advertisement or by emailing a resume with cover letter to Van Norman & Associates, (caleb@vannorman-hr.com), a full-service search/human resources consulting firm serving healthcare employers throughout the Midwest for over 35 years.
