**In this position...**
The Enterprise Data Platform & Engineering (DPE) Chief of Staff must be passionate about the team they support, the operations and efficiency of that team as well as the success of the overall strategy & communications. Consistent project management methods must not only be endorsed but demonstrated, shared, and improved upon based on the teams’ needs. Senior Leaders will feel supported by their efforts to harmonize the team across departments while supporting delivery of key initiatives and communications.
The DPE Chief of Staff will handle several principal duties, all focused on making time, information, and decision processes more effective. There are five key responsibilities which can help describe this role: serving as an _air traffic controller_ for the DPE senior team; as an _integrator_ connecting work streams that would otherwise remain siloed (https://hbr.org/sponsored/2021/10/dont-let-organizational-silos-creep-into-hybrid-work) ; as a _communicator_ linking the leadership team and the broader organization; as an _honest broker_ _and truth teller_ when leadership requires a wide-ranging view without organizational bias; and as a _confidant_ without an organizational agenda. A strong Chief of Staff will consider the needs of the whole enterprise.
Although a local candidate is strongly preferred, a remote candidate may be considered.
Onsite work of up to three days per week may be required for candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location.
**What you'll do...**
+ Support Enterprise Data Platform & Engineering Executive Director & OCM team to deliver critical operations initiatives at the platform level; increasing collaboration, communication & efficiency within the team.
+ Proactively prepare the leadership team for all meetings, including ET level meetings, all-hands meetings, and other key gatherings. This includes compiling relevant data, briefing materials, and presentations, ensuring all necessary information is readily available and understood. Anticipate their needs and provide solutions before problems arise.
+ Establish and maintain a system for tracking key department level and GDIA level deliverables across the organization. This includes identifying critical milestones, deadlines, and owners, monitoring progress, and escalating issues as needed. Hold teams accountable for meeting commitments and driving results
+ Assist the OCM with creating clear communications (email, PowerPoint, one-pagers) based on conversation and dialogue, refine leadership’s message and ensure that it is understood by the right audiences
+ Develop an understanding of the entire Enterprise Data Platform technologies and solutions and Program deliverables in order to help serve as a voice of the EDP, interacting with all EDP teams as well as other organizations
+ Manage and Track department financial health and H/C, ensure OCM is aware of leading indicators point to financial concern, work with OCM to implement corrective action
+ Manage Business Operations of key Leadership Meetings within Enterprise Data Platform and within GDI&A (e.g. Move the Needle, Portfolio Reviews, Gemba, etc); ensure timely delivery of the agenda topics, presentation content, and meeting minutes & actions.
+ Lead Data Platforms & Engineering Engagement with centralized teams like CDAO Office & Communications, Analytic portfolios, specially formed Committees, etc disseminating information & ideas between them and Data Platforms & Engineering.
+ Support & Facilitate Leadership Learning & Development needs by curating content, leveraging the centralized Talent team, to use for Leadership workshops, cascades, Orchestration Forums, etc.
+ Undertake special projects as assigned by the Executive Director or other members of the Leadership team, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

**You'll have...**
+ Bachelor’s degree in of education and equivalent work experience
+ 3+ years in a Data governance, engineer, analytics and/or Operations role or very similar
+ 2+ years working with executive or senior level leaders communicating complex topics in a simple, clear, plan-oriented manner
+ 2+ years of experience in a leadership role

+ Must be able to learn, grasp and add value to the DPE vision
+ Demonstrate organizational and political intelligence

+ Strong interpersonal, and leadership skills, with proven abilities to communicate complex topics to leaders and peers in a simple, clear, plan-oriented manner
+ Highly motivated team player, with the ability to collaborate well with others, solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
+ Ideally, domain expertise with Program Management and/or Business Office experience
+ Ability to develop, own and maintain SharePoint sites or similar as well as a PowerPoint super user.
