Apply now for the position of Chief of Staff, External Affairs and you will be the Chief of Staff to the global function head of Government Affairs, Policy, and Partnerships and as such, part of the Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you will ensure that our organization's priorities are aligned and that its vision is implemented effectively.

This is a Director level Individual Contributor role and is remote for candidates who reside in the US Northeast. Travel to the Malvern, PA office will be required based on business need. 

Your role:

You closely partner with the External Affairs Leader and provide strategic council and hands-on support to the organization executing on operational plans that are aligned with strategic priorities. You assist the External Affairs leader in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation and are a key Leader for transforming ideas into reality.    You collaborate across various levels of the organization to unite and orchestrate activities for best business impact. You oversee daily operations in collaboration with the Leadership Team and other senior leaders to optimize organizational processes for greater efficiency and productivity. You collect inputs from the leadership team and prepare regular operational and Executive-level reports and presentations to inform of the current state of the function. You monitoring key performance indicators to measure and improve team performance. (Ex: GA KPI dashboard) You complete special projects and initiatives with skillful oversight. You lead meetings and workshops with meticulous planning and coordination.

Key Deliverables:

Establish and run global operating model for GA function (KPIs, dashboard, reporting (all levels), meeting cadence/notes/follow up) including cadence for collaboration with key functions such as LC, TRE, DES, Comms, MK, etc Develop and implement methodology for measuring impact of GA systematically  (including consideration of HBAs, Regions, and Growth Vector impact) Support development of effective and efficient GA budgeting process as well as forecasting and management of costs (in coordination with SHS AC) Establish and drive global knowledge and best practice sharing community for all External Affairs topicsServe as global process owner for SpoDOM tool, improve efficiency of SpoDOM process in coordination with LC, analyze SpoDOM inputs and develop plans to optimize company impact in context of SpoDOM spending Lead cross functional programs and initiatives personally and/or coordinate for /manage external resources.  For examples, macro policy overview and company positioning for new Sustainability approach in context of update Ambition (to be published externally Nov 2024) Develop and implement global patient advocacy strategy which advances company business objectives Drive and coordinate global GA strategy / joint global agenda for key themes (establish focus topics, prepare global positioning with inputs for Regional GA leads, establish key messaging hierarchy and approved external proof points) Evaluate new strategic business requirements and determine plan including key milestones and resourcing needs Continuously monitor and optimize operational effectiveness of GA function to ensure best in class delivery against company strategy and business needs

Your expertise

You have proven experience in leading teams (without authority) and show strength in holistic stakeholder management. You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to successfully collaborate internally and externally. You know how to execute strategic plans in cross-functional settings and complex environments. You are structured and organized in your work approach and know how to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time. You demonstrate strong decision-making skills and know how to confidently present to and engage with senior leaders. You have strong affinity for coaching and leading others and are comfortable to be the advisor for different levels of the organization. You are comfortable evaluating data and information for the purpose of understanding the state of the business, identify opportunities for improvement, and build compelling cases for driving change. You have strong Microsoft Office skills (Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook) which you leverage for your day-to-day work. You have a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience (project management, leading without authority, executing strategic plans) You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience You have experience in government affairs and / or  healthcare industry You are comfortable working fast paced environment and with all levels of the organization

The pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 U.S. dollars annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as where the work will be performed.
