Chief of Staff for SVP, Partner Products and Marketplace – Principal Product Manager

We are seeking a Chief of Staff (Principal/Director level) for the Partner Products and Marketplace organization. This position (based in Seattle) will report directly to the SVP of Partner Products and will drive accountability for critical cross-team initiatives, lead special projects and enable cross-functional efficiency. This is an individual contributor role and is strongly strategic, operational and analytical in nature.
The person in this role will be a key member of the Partner Products leadership team, and a true thought partner that sets up the organization for scale, agility and high performance. We anticipate this role to have high exposure and be a steppingstone to leadership positions at Expedia Group and are supportive of career movement or progression.
In this role, you will:
Be Thought Leadership and Analytically focused:
Help product leaders build and vet business cases; improve data driven storytelling with a goal to drive better decision making and results
Apply analytical rigor to synthesize data into insights and help achieve business goals
Make recommendations for resource allocation to align with strategic goals. Ensure that priority projects are appropriately resourced, driving trade-off decisions or making business cases for new asks where necessary
Create transparency into business outcomes (metrics and financial targets) and the roadmap work that drives them
Optimize product, design, and operation processes to ensure efficiency and speed, working closely with leaders in cross-functional organizations
Optimize Partner Products ways of working to help drive engagement and make EG a place our team members can do their best work
Be Execution Focused:
Lead cross functional initiatives that set the organization up for scale, agility and high performance. Examples: organizational health metrics, hiring velocity, efficient reviews
Ensure alignment across the organization on overall strategic goals for each planning cycle
Drive orchestration of work streams and initiatives, coordinating with product lines to ensure consistency in execution
Work with biz ops to plan and organize leadership off-sites, town halls, and day to day priorities for the SVP of Partner Products
Drive complex technical and strategic initiatives on behalf of the SVP, Partner Products, within and across divisions
Build Relationships:
Be the voice of the SVP and act as the primary delegate for Partner Products on one or more complex or ambiguous initiatives
Partner with strategy team to ensure consistent prioritization of product roadmaps across divisions. Coordinate key priorities and timelines to reduce blockers due to dependencies
Provide strategic guidance and input to internal and external communications, strategic planning, leadership offsites, Town Halls, and day-to-day priorities for the SVP, working with enablement partners
Manage Key Processes:
Assimilate new teams and leadership team members into the team
Drive Product reviews in partnership with product and strategy org
Create organizational health metrics and action plans in partnership with HR team
Conduct cross functional operational reviews focused on accountability, progress, metrics, OKRs
Quarterly:
Internal comms and press release review
Execution plans for next Quarter
Competitive listening, Industry news analysis
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field; or Equivalent related professional experience; MBA or master’s degree in related field is a plus
Strong background in product management and strategy (preferably both)
Strongly analytical with a desire to continuously learn more about business operations, metrics and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth
Deep experience in technical program management, and management consulting or strategy within global technology organizations
Proven excellence as a technology leader capable of driving high-impact initiatives that deliver meaningful business results
Able to juggle multiple priorities, in a fast-moving environment, with a strong bias for action
Ability to influence and bring a strategic, systems thinking mindset to complex, cross-functional projects
Advanced ability to “connect the dots,” and very comfortable using data to respond effectively to complex problems to simplify, recommend, call to action, and build consensus
Someone who is a "one team" player, transparent and an advocate of sharing data and learnings to create better customer outcomes
High EQ: someone who inspires peripheral relationships across Expedia Group, has the enthusiasm and passion to engage the wider organization on the Partner Products roadmap
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $224,000.00 to $313,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $358,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
