Mercy General Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational excellence and drive strategic initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in operations, hospital administration, process improvement, and team leadership. **Responsibilities** + Oversee hospital-wide operations, ensuring seamless integration of clinical and non-clinical functions. + Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, patient outcomes, and financial sustainability. + Lead and mentor department heads to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. + Optimize resource allocation, budget management, and operational workflows to enhance hospital performance. + Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies. + Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and care delivery. + Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align operational goals with the hospital’s mission and vision. + Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement. + Strengthen relationships with physicians, staff, and external stakeholders to support hospital growth and community engagement. + Implement and monitor emergency preparedness and crisis management strategies. **Qualifications** **Education and Experience:** + Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. + Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare operations. + FACHE preferred + Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and improving patient care outcomes. + Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, financial management, and hospital accreditation processes. + Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. + Proficiency in data analysis, strategic planning, and performance management. **Pay Range** $104.79 - $146.70/hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
