Job Description
We are currently seeking a Chief Power Engineer to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Calgary, AB Plant. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Chief Power Engineer will oversee critical site equipment, including oil heaters, HVAC systems, compressors, steam systems, and fire prevention systems. This role involves performing routine preventative maintenance, checks, and ensuring compliance with ABSA standards.

WHEN YOU JOIN US
Oil Heaters: Maintain logbooks, conduct regular safety checks, as per ABSA requirements, complete preventative maintenance on controls, perform system checks from expansion tank to heaters daily, check for leaks, and inspect C8 oil heaters.
HVAC Systems: Monitor and replace filters, conduct regular preventative maintenance (including lubrication), inspect belts, and coordinate with contractors for major repairs.
Compressors: Perform preventative maintenance on air dryers and filters while maintaining inspection lists for pressure vessels.
System Checks: Conduct checks on blowers, filler unload, and process systems.
Steam Systems: Inspect for leaks, perform preventative maintenance on steam traps, and carry out necessary repairs.
Fire Prevention Systems: Conduct weekly checks on sprinkler systems, test fire pumps, perform monthly trip tests on dry sprinkler systems, inspect fire extinguishers, compile reports, and conduct quarterly PID checks and valve inspections.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
3rd Class Power Engineering ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association) Designation
Comfortable performing preventative maintenance, checks, and ensuring compliance with ABSA requirements
Previous industrial manufacturing plant experience is an asset
Structured problem-solving skills
Usage of tools and processes to ensure a successful accomplishment of expected goals
Project implementation and management skills from initial planning stages to completion
Computer skills -- Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong communication skills to communicate with individuals at all levels (shop floor personnel to senior management)
Effective presentation skills
