Chief Quality Officer (CQO)
Job Description Oversees all aspects of the quality management function for a hospital or other healthcare facility. Develops plans designed to improve the overall quality of the organization's facilities and patient care services. Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards. Responsible for planning and directing quality policies, programs, and initiatives. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. Typically requires at least 15 years of clinical experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
