Position Overview:
Join Siemens Financial Services (SFS) as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for our asset-based finance division in the Americas. As a key member of the executive team, the CRO will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and oversight of all risk management strategies and practices. This role is critical in ensuring the sustainable growth and profitability of our asset-based finance portfolio while maintaining a robust risk management framework. While the primary focus will be on the US market, the CRO will also supervise operations in Canada and Mexico, which have smaller portfolios.
The location for this role is in Malvern, PA. This is a hybrid position.
You will make an impact by:
Leading the creation and execution of comprehensive risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure a balanced and profitable portfolio. Being responsible for the credit underwriting process, ensuring decisions are made in line with company policies, guidelines, and service levels. Supervising and managing the asset-based finance portfolio, including risk assessment, asset management, and collections. Implementing and optimizing innovative risk assessment tools and methodologies to enhance decision-making processes. Ensuring compliance with all relevant risk-related regulatory requirements and internal policies. Providing regular and detailed risk reports to senior management and other collaborators, highlighting key risk indicators and portfolio performance. Recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing risk management team (approx. 40 FTE), encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Working closely with the Regional CEO, CFO, and other senior leaders to align risk management practices with business objectives. Conducting thorough market analysis to identify emerging risks and opportunities within the asset-based finance sector. Acting as a change ambassador, driving the implementation of digital solutions and operational improvements within the risk management function.Digital Transformation Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing a digital transformation strategy for the risk management function, using advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Leading initiatives to automate risk assessment, underwriting, and portfolio management processes, reducing manual intervention and improving accuracy. Applying data analytics and machine learning to gain insights into portfolio performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Technology Integration: Integrating new digital tools and platforms with existing systems to create a seamless and efficient risk management infrastructure. Fostering a culture of innovation within the risk management team, encouraging the exploration and adoption of innovative technologies. Promoting digital literacy and upskilling within the team to ensure they are equipped to work with new technologies and tools.Your success is grounded in having these qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a CRO role or comparable other senior management role. Extensive experience in credit risk management, particularly within the asset-based finance sector. A Master’s Degree is required. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Expertise: 5+ Years in underwriting middle and large ticket leasing transactions. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in asset management and/or collections. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in P&L and balance sheet management.Preferred Qualifications:
Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the US market, especially in industries related to the Siemens ecosystem. Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is desirable, but not a must. Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of risk professionals. Strong commercial sensitivity and business insight. Proven track record in implementing and optimizing risk management processes using digital solutions. Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in risk assessment tools and methodologies. Ability to collaborate closely optimally with colleagues and partners in a global matrix environment. Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives, including the implementation of automation, data analytics, and technology integration. International experience is a plusWe offer you:

The pay range for this position is $293,708-$389,921 with an annual target incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
