Amentum is hiring a **Chief Systems Engineer** to support high-profile DoD programs at NSWC Crane. The primary objective for this role is to provide logical engineering principles and disciplined guidance to ensure successful execution of technical plans and goals while communicating effectively with internal and external management and senior-level government customers concerning operational and design decisions, definition and achievement of requirements, technical risk identification and mitigation, and overall life cycle systems engineering process definition and oversight that results in successful definition and realization of large-scale DoD systems. **In this role, you will:** + Provide engineering and scientific leadership and oversight in the performance of design review planning, preparation, readiness and risk assessments + Provide leadership and oversight of technical analyses, trade studies, research and evaluation to lead system definition and realization activities, resolve issues, conduct failure reviews, and make recommendations regarding enhanced capabilities **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline and 15 years of related experience OR Master of Science in Engineering discipline and 12 years of related experience + Project Management experience (at least one year) + Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams in complex systems engineering across the product development life cycle + Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering program level planning documentation and change management + Experience conducting science and technology research, analysis, trade studies, system definition (requirements, architecture, and interfaces), integration, and test of complex systems + Skills in analysis, critical thinking, and technical problem solving + Utilization of risk and opportunity management processes throughout the design life cycle + Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance (Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance) **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience electromagnetic warfare systems, electro-optic systems, radar systems, systems of systems interoperability + Experience in digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles and tools + Active Secret Clearance Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
