A member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, St. Francis is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a national leader for Cardiology & Heart Surgery, as well as for Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Job Details We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Ultrasound Technologist to lead our Ultrasound department at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, a busy and dynamic hospital setting. The successful candidate will oversee all operational, clinical, and administrative aspects of the ultrasound services, ensuring the highest standards of care and efficiency. Responsibilities: Proficiency in Vascular and General Body Radiology Ultrasound is required. Manage and supervise the ultrasound technology team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Oversee the daily operations of the ultrasound department to ensure efficient and effective diagnostic services. Develop and implement policies and procedures that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with other medical professionals and departments to integrate ultrasound services into overall patient care. Ensure the maintenance and functionality of ultrasound equipment, and manage the procurement of new technology as needed. Monitor and optimize workflow processes to increase efficiency and improve patient satisfaction. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in ultrasound technology and introduce innovative practices and techniques to the team. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards to protect patients and staff. Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and cost control. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred Certified and registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by a recognized accrediting body (e.g., ARDMS). RVT (registered vascular technologist BLS required Minimum of 5 years of experience in ultrasound technology with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team of professionals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, and other healthcare providers. Proficiency in using various types of ultrasound equipment and technology. Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Salary Range USD $54.43 - USD $68.00 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
