University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Medicine and Dentistry: Pediatrics: Pediatrics: General Pediatrics **Salary Range or Pay Grade** $175,000 **Description** We are currently seeking to fill a faculty position in Child Abuse Pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics at the Golisano Children’s Hospital of the University of Rochester. This vibrant multidisciplinary division has approximately 100 faculty, fellows, and staff participating in active clinical, research, and educational programs focusing on improving child health in the local community and beyond. The REACH program (Referral and Evaluation Service for Abused Children) of Golisano Children’s Hospital provides medical evaluations for children who may be victims of sexual or physical abuse. The REACH program partners with the Bivona Child Advocacy Center and other community agencies. This physician role will include working collaboratively with the REACH Program staff to offer these medical services in our county and surrounding region. **Research** The Division of General Pediatrics is a premier center for pediatric health services research, with a focus on improving health-care delivery and health outcomes for vulnerable children and youth. Division faculty are expected to contribute to the division's academic mission through participation in scholarly activities that may include research publications, publications of quality improvement projects, educational scholarship, reviews, chapters, or books; participation in clinical trials and/or clinical investigations; academic presentations; and review of manuscripts or grants. **Patient Care** _The REACH Program is where our missions of caring, discovery, teaching, and learning become a reality. Our program is the medical component of a multidisciplinary team comprised of child protective services caseworkers, forensic interviewers, law enforcement investigators, family advocates, counselors, and attorneys, many of whom are co-located at the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. We make every effort to serve the needs of children and their families in a relaxed and friendly setting._ This position includes participation in clinical service in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Clinical activities include: · Serving as a physician in our REACH program. · Working with our clinical team and providing direct patient care services with skills that are clinically sound, effective, and achieve exceptional patient outcomes. · Working with medical colleagues at the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong · Teaching students, residents, and fellows in the clinical setting. · Integrating innovative approaches to patient care. · Working with the multidisciplinary team at the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. · Serving as an expert witness and providing testimony in child abuse and neglect cases. This position also includes outpatient clinical activities within the Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Practice (GCHPP), a designated Patient-Centered Medical Home, caring for over 13,000 patients utilizing a team-based care model. The Assistant Professor will serve as a pediatric provider within GCHPP, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to all patients, including those within Rochester’s medically underserved community. The candidate will work closely with teams of advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, care coordinators, and support staff to deliver care to GCHPP patients. **Training** We provide outstanding training to house staff, fellows, and medical students in our clinical settings. We also have long-standing and highly successful fellowship programs for General Academic Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, a fellowship program in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and an award-winning house staff training program in community pediatrics and child advocacy. Division faculty are expected to contribute to the education of trainees. Duties may include: · Teaching and supervising the patient care of assigned medical students, residents, and fellows. · Advising trainees in programmatic and project activities. · Participating in local and regional educational opportunities. · Participating in the development or direction of educational programs, curricular offerings, and teaching materials. · Participating in curriculum committees or other education-related committees. · Serving as a role model within the department in mentoring students and trainees. **Administrative** All faculty members are expected to maintain currency in their field through continuing education, literature, and seminars. Additionally, faculty may take a role in the development of divisional or departmental policies, procedures, and standards. Occasionally, faculty may be assigned to divisional, departmental, or faculty committees. Participation in local or regional clinical affairs through membership in clinical societies or specialty governing boards is encouraged. **Qualifications** This position requires completion of a Pediatric Residency and additional training/experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics. MD or DO and current active license to practice medicine. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience, and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
