Child Care Teacher
Position Summary:
Provides a safe, stimulating environment for young children. Creates and implements activities and lesson plans that simultaneously engage and educate children.
Responsibilities:
Incorporates child development using a child’s natural inclination to play
Conducts individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills
Provides diverse basic care needs, including preparing and supplying proper nutrition, performing cleaning duties and dealing with behavioral issues
Communicate with parents to discuss a child's educational development
Maintains appropriate records of attendance and activities
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred
Teacher/Care Provider license issued by the City of Coeur d’Alene within 10 days of hire
Pediatric First Aid CPR AED card required within 10 days of hire
Working Conditions:
Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling climbing and twisting
