Child Development Teacher at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR

Full-Time/Day Shift

The Teacher works as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment providing developmentally appropriate activities for a child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. The person filling this position is directly involved in the physical care of children and the maintenance of a clean, orderly preschool environment. The Teacher works with the Lead Teacher to organize and plan a developmentally appropriate environment, learning activities, schedule and general care of the children.

Required Qualifications: 

Associate's Degree - Early Childhood Education or related field with 6 months experience with children 3-6 years, or Practicum experience or,  Equivalent education/experience as outlined in state qualification requirements for a Teacher in an Early Learning Environment or Oregon Registry Step 8.  In compliance with the Oregon Child Care Division, Central Background Registration for this position, based on assigned duties.  Must have no convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances, or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions, of duties of an employee of a child care facility upon hire.  Experience implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) in Early Learning.

Preferred Qualifications: 

BLS CPR or First Aid CPR upon hire.
