Additional Information About the Role St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a full time child life specialist! This will be a float position that will help provide backup and coverage support to all units at St. Louis Children's main campus. Hours: Wednesday-Saturday from 7:30am – 5:00pm * Applicants must have completed their child life internship for this role. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose To provide the scope of child life services to children and families who are receiving services from St. Louis Children's Hospital. Responsibilities Collaborates with health care professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family centered care. Provides child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and/or other potentially stressful events. Actively contributes to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department, planning activities, special projects, meetings and outcome measures. Increases awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation and in-service education.
