State-of-the-art facility: Child and Adolescent Services includes a 15-bed unit treats children and teens (ages 5 through 18) is part of the new Moorman Pavilion and offers:
* Private or semi-private rooms, each with a private bathroom
* Activity room for group programs and other activities
* Day room, where children spend much of their time
* Dining room, where everyone eats together
* Indoor and outdoor recreational spaces, including a basketball court
* Classroom for completing school assignments
* Secure entrance and monitoring throughout
Specialized staff: Be part of a team including 3 board-certified child psychiatrists and 7 full-time therapists. Our staff of nurses helps coordinate each child’s care, which includes one-on-one therapy – including music therapy, pet therapy and group therapy.
Tutoring: A teacher from the Quincy public school system works with children each day, helping them complete homework assignments (we contact the school to get your child’s lessons). This way, your child will not fall behind during his/her stay with us.
Careful coordination of discharge and after-care: We work very closely with the family, the school and your child’s pediatrician and other therapists to coordinate discharge. We want to make sure your child has the support at home and in the community to be able to transition back to school. This planning includes making sure everyone is aware of the medication plan. We also try to schedule all follow-up appointments before your child leaves, so parents and teachers know the next step in the care plan.
Quincy Hospitality House: Parents traveling to Quincy to visit a child receiving treatment in the inpatient unit are welcome to stay at the Quincy Hospitality House.
In our inpatient care unit, our specialized team provides a wide variety of services for children and teens, whose average length of stay is 7 to 10 days. We help young people cope with behavioral problems and issues such as:
* Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
* Depression, anxiety and other mood disorders
* Physical and emotional abuse
