FTE: 0.01, Shift: Day, Schedule: Variable

Position Summary

The Health Educator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and activities of the assigned program. Provides input and works closely with community partners and department staff. This position requires expertise and experience in the various areas of focus (i.e. working with youth and adults in various sectors to include: schools, early learning, after- school, health care, community and workplace-planning, coordinating, evaluating and related programs). Work situations are varied and require strong organizational skills, communication and computer skills, database management, independent thinking, creativity, and discretion. Works with MHS departments and staff, as well as community partners and external organizations.

Depending on assignment, the incumbent may be required to perform community educational activities on occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Health Education/Promotion or related field and two (2) years of experience in community outreach, program planning and evaluation OR five (5) years experience in health education and/or public health or community outreach; experience with nutrition, physical activity, prevention programming, planning and evaluation or related experience. Experience in community outreach, working with youth and prevention

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $29.81 - $42.89 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
