China Energy Correspondent
Reuters is seeking a dynamic journalist with strong source-building skills, great story ideas and a track record of breaking news to join our Beijing-based team as China energy correspondent. The successful candidate will deliver a best-in-class news file for professional and media clients on a country that is both the world’s biggest oil importer and a leader in the energy transition. The China energy correspondent will have keen understanding of the oil and gas industries and markets as well as the geopolitics of trading relations and sanctions, reporting and writing exclusive and agenda-setting stories on topics ranging from shifts in China’s energy demand and imports to breaking news on its major energy companies.
About the Role
In this opportunity as China Energy Correspondent, you will:
Break news and write agenda-setting stories on oil, gas and renewables companies, markets and trade flowsWork closely with colleagues in China and globally, leveraging the power of the Reuters networkWrite stories that cut through industry jargon for both professional and media audiencesBe able to connect the dots and explain the significance of industry and market developmentsIdentify trends and explain them to a global audienceUse graphics and other story-telling elements to maximize the utility of storiesAbout You
