Church Partnerships Manager I - West Region
The expected salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $129,740.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. We are looking for a driven and experienced Church Partnerships Manager to join Compassion’s Church Team in the Western US. The role is focused on acquiring new partnerships with churches averaging in attendance of 700 and above in the Pacific Northwest territory. This is accomplished through a disciplined sales/development strategy rooted in a culture that seeks to serve Lead and Executive Pastoral teams and their churches. Through a relational development approach, the goal is to engage ever increasing numbers of pastors and churches, converting them into long-term, strategic partners. These strategic church partnerships connect and align the vision and mission of local churches in the US with the vision and mission of Compassion globally, resulting in the release of more children from poverty in Jesus' name. The ideal candidate will possess sales experience and/or business/non-profit development experience, a pastoral background or experience in pastoral relations, the  resilience, strategic mindset and competitive drive to work independently and creatively to achieve aggressive growth goals.

PLEASE NOTE: The preferable candidate will already be living in the Western region with a preference for those currently living in the state of Washington.

What will you do?

Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

Establish and develop new partnerships with senior leadership of large churches leading to child sponsorship and/or revenue, meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual goals for a wide variety of ministry needs.

Interact in person with large church pastors and other key decision-makers to foster effective relationships and growth in increased giving potential.

Take ownership for the full sales-cycle including but not limited to lead generation, prospecting, and closing senior leadership of large churches.

Maintain an accurate record of all leads, accounts, and documenting all related activity in CRM. Prepare weekly and monthly reports.

Generate leads through referrals, cold calling, and research, set up appointments to meet in person with senior leaders at large churches to evaluate opportunities for engagement.

Organize and lead vision and/or short-term church trips for the purpose of cultivating church relationships.

Report to donor churches on the use of funds through stewardship reports, maintaining strong communication related to project follow-up and a personalized affirmation program for prior gifts and involvement.

Operating within the approved budget, maintain accurate database of accounts, documenting activities and opportunities and following existing process and business rules and requirements. Provide required reports summarizing achievement of assigned objectives in accordance with approved processes.

Represent Compassion, contributing to regional and national meetings and participating as a speaker at events where communication of Compassion’s ministry is required.

What do you bring?

Bachelor's Degree

Seven years' experience working in this or a related field.

Extensive experience in sales, business/donor development, and pastoral leadership.

Deep understanding and appreciation of church culture/pastoral leadership.

Expert in all aspects of business development with a specialization and proficiency in cold calling and procuring new relationships.

Demonstrated success in achieving weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual quota.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with demonstrated success meeting deadlines and quota in a remote environment.

Effective critical thinker with the ability to overcome barriers and obstacles to par.

Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Ability to travel up to 50% of normal schedule including international travel. Travelers must follow the vaccination rule of each country they travel to. Some countries require the health record to be uploaded to their system to receive a QR code to present when arriving in immigrations.
