Summary 

We are seeking a Category Buyer to oversee the procurement and management of the antennas commodity within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing category strategies, conducting supplier negotiations, and ensuring on-time sourcing and delivery of high-quality products. The Category Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide strategic sourcing solutions to meet business objectives.

You'll have...

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, preferably within the electronics industry. Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software. Knowledge of sourcing best practices and industry trends. Strong communication skills that can effectively transition from bottoms-up details to concise, clear executive-level messaging. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Masters degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Be proactive and resourceful; comfortable with navigating ambiguity.

Develop and implement category strategies for the antennas commodity to optimize cost, quality, delivery, resiliency and overall supplier performance. Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiations to secure competitive pricing and terms. Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues that may arise. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide sourcing solutions that align with business goals. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and relevant material indices to identify opportunities for cost savings and product improvements.

 

What you'll do...

Analyze and report on key performance indicators, such as cost savings, supplier quality, supplier resiliency, and supplier delivery. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall procurement efficiency. Lead and drive sourcing strategy for antennas across Ford and Lincoln vehicles including RFI/RFQ activities. Develop a deep understanding of the cost structure and challenge supplier and key stakeholder assumptions to achieve best in class costs. Onboarding new suppliers to Ford processes including evaluation of end-to-end supply chain readiness. Promote transparency and management of entire supply chain value stream with suppliers.
