Specifically, an Analyst works directly with Credit Officers and Credit Executives on the following:
• Monitors a portfolio of clients focused on both primary and operating exposure
• Develop credit expertise in structuring facilities and negotiating legal documentation on transactions
• Collaborate with deal teams including product partners (e.g. traders, IB coverage, CB Coverage) and legal counsel
• Prepare credit approval packages including financial models as well as documents related to client monitoring
• Authors credit analysis and seeks approval for transactions for lending and trading exposures
• Proactively manage clients including recommending internal risk ratings
• Develop a well-informed and forward looking view of the client business
• Stay current on all aspects of the assigned credit portfolio, including industry trends, portfolio performance, compliance with covenants, potential risks and opportunities
• Present credit views and recommendations to senior leaders
• Process and oversee credit setup, coordinating actively with operations and/or the middle office
• Lead ad hoc team projects
• Help drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements
Qualifications:
• Possess strong accounting, finance, analytical and modeling skills
• Be highly motivated with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality
• Deadline orientation; close attention to detail and accuracy; ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to work proactively & independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across lines of business
• Excellent PC skills and experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
• Professional work experience in financial services preferred
