Circuit Board Fabrication Technician
**Description** ARA’s Applied Electromagnetics Division in Lafayette, CO seeks an experienced **Circuit Board Fabrication Technician** . This position is an excellent opportunity to perform a wide range of steps required for printed circuit board materials manufacturing in a development and production environment. This is a hands-on position that involves wet process etching and plating of printed circuits, multi-layer circuit board bonding with composites materials, precision circuit drilling and milling, paint, ink, and powder coatings, quality inspection with optical and dimensional equipment, custom process formulation and improvement, equipment maintenance and cleanliness, and material and supply management. Our products employ various metal, plastic, fabric and resin materials in combination to support a variety of different printed circuit board applications. A candidate experienced in the fabrication of aerospace hardware with an eye for detail and craftsmanship is needed. This position requires 10+ years of demonstrated hardware fabrication experience and the ability to obtain a security clearance. **Salary Range: $25-$35/hr. dependent upon experience level.** **What you’ll do as a Circuit Board Fabrication Technician:** + Operate and maintain wet process printed circuit board etching equipment including chemical cleaning, film lamination, direct imaging, mask development, copper etching, and mask stripping. + Provide important insight to assist engineers with the design and fabrication of unique, cost-effective, high-quality, high-volume parts. **Requirements for a Circuit Board Fabrication Technician** **:** + Extensive knowledge of materials, processes, tools, and equipment employed by a machine shop, composites layup lab, and circuit soldering station. + Mechanically inclined and hands on craftsman with an eye for detail and patience to perform skilled repetitive work. + 10+ years of experience in the aerospace/defense or related industry with a portfolio of successfully fabricated hardware. + **Associates degree in a technology or science related to materials or manufacturing** or commensurate experience. + **Must have or be able to obtain and hold a DoD SECRET-level security clearance.** **Preferences for a** **Metals & Composites Fabricator** **:** + Soldering certifications: J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 a PLUS + Knowledge of ESD practices and tools for active devices and equipment a PLUS + Direct antennas, radomes, circuits, and/or RF/EM materials experience a PLUS **Company & Division Information** Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
