Northrop Grumman is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Linthicum, MD.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions Business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies, and drives advances in the sciences. One of our most challenging new fields is Transformational Computing, which is focused on developing innovative next generation superconducting electronics (SCE) and advanced computing technologies.
This position requires work onsite at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) facility in Linthicum, Maryland.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Apply your skills as design engineer while learning about superconducting technology including NG’s patented Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL).Design, layout and verify custom integrated circuits in NG superconducting technologies.Work with high-frequency simulation and Multiphysics software tools such as ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), ADS (Momentum), COMSOL, etc.Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, and other team members to develop, document, and propagate best practices.Support test and test development activities for Quantum electronics research and development.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience in either Analog, Digital or Mixed Signal Circuit design (0 years with technical MS)Solid understanding of circuit design theory and related coursework; hands-on custom circuit design experienceStrong problem solving and analytical skillsExperience with some of the following: custom IC design tools (e.g. Cadence or Tanner EDA) for schematic capture, circuit simulation, and custom layout; physical verification using Cadence Assura or Mentor CalibreStrong communication skills, able to efficiently disseminate information to leadership and respective working groupUS Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of analog/mixed-signal IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, layout and physical verification (DRC/LVS)Microwave engineering design background; solid understanding of transmission line theory and matching circuitryElectromagnetic modeling background employing commercial tools, such as HFSS, Clarity, or CSTProgramming experience with Cadence SKILL or Python#NGMCENG
Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
