Duties Description • Coordinate and facilitate all significant communications between the State Comptroller Office and federal, state and local elected officials, and other stakeholders throughout Brooklyn.• Collaborate closely with the State Comptroller's Intergovernmental Affairs team to promote the State Comptroller's priorities and policy strategies to achieve desired outcomes.• Attend events, meetings and forums in Brooklyn on behalf of the State Comptroller, and liaise with State Agencies on ongoing projects.• Plan, organize and oversee regional visits for the State Comptroller and other senior officials.• Provide strategic support for public outreach, including organizing meetings with government partners, elected officials and community groups.• Manage correspondence with external stakeholders, and advise the State Comptroller and senior officials on local issues, political dynamics and other matters.• Proactively self-manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting tight deadlines, with sound judgement and effective problem-solving skills.• Established, positive working relationships with Brooklyn's elected officials, faith-based leaders, advocates, community boards, civic associations, etc.• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and public speaking skills for diverse audiences.• Strong research, reasoning and writing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information.• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, and proactively manage multiple projects and priorities.• Ability to work nights and weekends upon request
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.**Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.Possess a valid New York State driver's license.

Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so.
