One of our clients in Phoenix, Arizona is looking for a Citrix Systems Engineer with the following skills and experience:

The Citrix Systems Engineer will manage and optimize virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to support seamless access to EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records), EPIC preferred and third-party healthcare applications. The role focuses on high availability, security, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.

This role requires a seasoned Citrix engineer with strong EMR experience, ideally in EPIC, to ensure a stable and secure virtualized healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, ensuring high availability and system performance.Provide L2/L3 support for Citrix-related issues, troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and virtual desktop problems.Support EPIC (preferred) or other EMRs (Cerner, MediTech, Soarian) in a Citrix environment, ensuring smooth integration and troubleshooting access issues.Manage Citrix NetScaler, Access Gateway, PVS, XenApp, and XenDesktop to optimize user access.Implement and maintain network security protocols (VPNs, firewalls) for secure remote access.Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST).Develop and maintain system documentation and cross-training materials for the IT team.

Must-Have Qualifications

Expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, NetScaler, Access Gateway, XenApp, and XenDesktop.Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred; will consider Cerner, MediTech, Soarian, etc.).Strong virtualization experience (VMware, XenServer).Proficiency in Windows Server/Desktop OS, networking (firewalls, ports, DNS, DHCP), and storage (SAN/NAS).Healthcare IT experience, ensuring secure access to EMRs and compliance with HIPAA/HITRUST.Proven troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced IT environment.Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with backup, monitoring, and security tools.Exposure to alternative virtualization technologies, as Honor Health may transition off Citrix.
