DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a full-time Civil Associate I - Entry Level Bridge Inspector supporting our Bridge group in our Moon Township, PA office. As part of our Structures group, you will help us deliver outstanding NBIS bridge inspection and design services. You will work with experienced Team Leaders to inspect bridges of all shapes and sizes and materials to help ensure the safety of the traveling public in Pennsylvania and across the country.
RESPONSIBILITIES
NBIS Bridge Inspector, Assistant Team Leader The best part of being a part of Michael Baker’s Pittsburgh office is that no two days will be the same. The selected candidate will face different challenges every day, some of which will be extraordinarily complex, yet very rewarding. Some days will be spent in the field assisting the Team Leader for the inspection of bridges, culverts, noise walls, retaining walls, sign structures, etc., documenting deterioration and findings, and recording measurements. Other days will be spent in the office coordinating field work, writing inspection reports and reviewing inspection reports. Work may also include updating existing load rating analyses based on the findings in the field and developing repair solutions for local bridge owners.PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET) EIT desired Strong organizational and writing skills Motivated and have a strong work ethic Strong attention to detail and ability to self-start Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong client relationship skills Ability to perform field work which can included carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, climbing, cleaning bridge members with hand tools, working in hot or cold weather, etc. Valid U.S. Driver’s license Meet the criteria for NBIS qualified inspector. (PennDOT certification a plus) Bridge Load Rating Experience is a plus.COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $59,872 to $94,298 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
