DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our transportation team in either our Fairbanks or Anchorage offices. We will help you continue to grow and develop your engineering skills and profession through exposure to a variety of civil design projects including highways, airports, building sites, and oil and gas infrastructure. We also offer opportunities for field work experience in design data collection and construction contract administration.
As part of our Civil Engineering team, the Transportation Civil Associate II (EIT) will assist with, and progressively lead tasks including data review, site review, field documentation, data collection, data organization, data analysis, preparation of technical reports and civil engineering planning and design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Project Managers to design and develop plans, specifications, and estimates for civil highway, aviation, and site engineering projects, utilizing AutoCAD/Civil 3D and ArcGIS software extensively. Conduct studies, design analyses, and prepare construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation. Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates. Perform site visits, including to remote locations, with occasional to moderate travel required. Support project managers in tracking and maintaining project schedules and budgets. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills, attend seminars, review professional publications, and engage in in-house systems and management training.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, with coursework focused on transportation engineering. Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Two to five years of experience in civil engineering, including roads, highways, utilities, structures, or site design. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or other civil design software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of self-initiative and a strong desire to learn and apply engineering skills to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$111,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
