Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil/Coastal Engineer to join our Water Management/Climate Adaptation team. This position offers flexibility to work from any of our offices in the NYC metropolitan area.

At Arcadis, our Water Management/Climate Adaptation practice focuses on delivering transformative solutions to address climate change and coastal hazards, enhancing the quality of life for communities. Our projects range from sustainable stormwater systems and advanced flood defenses to adaptive strategies for coastal and inland environments. We are committed to fostering resilience and sustainability through collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning.

Role Responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of climate adaptation and resilience projects for waterfront and coastal environments across the United States. Key responsibilities include:

Conducting climate impact assessments and developing solutions to enhance water infrastructure resilience. Designing coastal flood protection systems and nature-based solutions. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on water resource and climate adaptation projects. Mentoring junior staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality project outcomes. Supporting business development through client engagement, proposal preparation, and strategic planning.

This position may require up to 20% travel for site visits, client meetings, and project-related activities.

Key Skills & Experience:

To excel in this role, you should have proven expertise in structural design and experience working with navigable waterways. A strong background in developing technical design plans and specifications for, or implementing, coastal resilience and waterfront projects is essential. Effective communication skills and exceptional project management capabilities are critical for leading teams and managing resources effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Coastal Engineering, or a related field  10 years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field  Professional Engineer (PE) License

The salary range for this position is $122,000 - $183,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
