Job Title: Civil Construction Inspector
Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Construction Inspector with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or construction inspection of heavy civil infrastructure. This may include highways, bridges, buildings, or railroads. The ideal candidate will hold Department of Transportation technician testing certifications or certifications through technical organizations such as the American Concrete Institute. The role involves composing reports, performing field materials sampling and testing, and using survey equipment to verify construction accuracy.

ResponsibilitiesCompose reports with a daily log of construction activities, personnel assigned, equipment used, weather conditions, and other pertinent information.Operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state laws.Use survey equipment to check and confirm construction.Perform field materials sampling and testing, including tests for concrete slump and air content, concrete compressive specimens, compaction, moisture, and aggregate gradation.Perform measurements and calculations necessary to determine the quantity of work performed and materials used.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or construction inspection of heavy civil infrastructure.Department of Transportation technician testing certifications.Certifications through technical organizations such as the American Concrete Institute.Experience using survey equipment.Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in construction materials testing.ICC certifications.Familiarity with bridge inspection processes.Work Environment

The work environment includes fieldwork involving the inspection of heavy civil infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, buildings, and railroads. The role requires the use of survey equipment and other testing tools. The inspector will be responsible for composing detailed reports and performing various material tests. Proper attire suitable for construction sites is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00
