Job Description
We are seeking a Site/Civil Engineer to join our collaborative team in New Haven. This individual will play a key role in the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. You will gain experience in site/civil engineering design for mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential, higher education, federal, and other exciting land development projects in a continuous learning environment.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation and modification of engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).Analyze reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on project planning and design.Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.Perform other job duties as requested.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.EIT certification; PE certification preferred.3+ years of relevant professional experience in site/civil design including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.Ability to follow directions and work in a collaborative team environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.Internship or 1-2 years of experience in Site Civil Engineering (Storm water, Utilities, Drainage, Soils, Grading, Land Development, Infrastructure, Site Planning).Experience with commercial, industrial, shopping centers, residential, higher education, federal projects.Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting.Experience in report writing.E.I.T or FE Exam scheduled.Coming from a multi-disciplined experience is a plus.Work Environment
Our office is located in a beautiful space right on the water in New Haven, in a first-class building on the 9th floor with amazing views where you can see Long Island from one of our conference rooms. We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Our team consists of 20 members in the Civil Group. We provide a direct growth path with opportunities to move to associate positions within 3 years and project engineer roles within 6 years if desired. We handle large-scale projects and have a diverse project portfolio, working with prestigious clients such as Yale and other notable companies. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.50
