**Civil Designer, Substation Design**
**Job Summary**
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Civil Designer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ The position involves drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include civil site development.
+ The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; seek guidance from those with more experience; and mentor/direct those with less experience.
**Required Education/Experience**
+ Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
+ AutoCAD 2015 and Civil 3D experience.
+ The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
**Desired Education/Experience**
+ 5+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
+ MicroStation experience.
+ Ability to create grading plans and details from rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions.
+ Site development experience, including erosion control design, storm water design, road plan & profiles, and site survey translation.
