Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently seeking a talented Civil Designer for its Chicago office. The candidate will learn and perform diversified civil engineering work under direct supervision of a senior civil engineer. Duties include engineering design of highways, freeways and local streets based upon National and local design criteria and codes.  Duties also include preparation of construction plans utilizing MicroStation CADD Software and various specialized civil engineering design programs.  Miscellaneous duties include working with construction specifications and estimating quantities and costs.  Candidate must be able to work within a team environment and have good communication skills.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Assist with analysis and review of roadway plans, traffic data, various reports, and geometric designs.  Assist with planning and preliminary designs for roadways Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate Prepare construction plans using CADD programs Prepare construction specifications Perform material quantity take-offs Organize design calculations Review of contractor’s shop drawings for conformity with design plans

 

What your experience looks like

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required EIT preferred 0-2 years of experience Knowledgeable with civil design and design computer programs Knowledgeable with CADD programs such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD Knowledgeable with Geopak and 3D Modeling
