We seek a Civil Designer II to work in our Land Development Department based in South Boston, Virginia. \n

Responsibilities:\n\nAnalyzes and designs civil engineering land development components under the direct supervision of the Project Manager\nProvides design calculations, technical reports, permit applications, and plan sets for storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, stormwater control facilities, pressure networks, mass, and fine grading, sediment and erosion control, and roadways\nGenerates final design grading plans using Civil3D features\nEnsures all steps and procedures are followed throughout the local jurisdictional requirements\nSupervises construction administration-related duties such as meetings, site visits, responses to RFIs, and review of shop drawings\nWorks on multiple project tasks prioritizing responsibilities\nManages deadlines for on-time submittals to maintain the overall project schedule\nEnhances final plan sets with exceptional attention to details\nActively assists in Quality Control throughout the project\nInterface with clients as required, including periodic project status\nInspires a high level of performance from the team\n\n

Required Skills and Qualifications:\n\nAssociate's Degree in Drafting or related field with a minimum of five years of land development, civil\/site experience\nAdvanced knowledge of Civil3D and associated design and modeling software\nKnowledge of Civil Engineering design requirements and principles\nEffective constructive and cooperative working relationships with others\nAbility to read and interpret technical information\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions\nAbility to interpret a wide variety of technical instruction\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills\nAbility to work independently as well as on teams\nAbility to multi-task and prioritize\nAbility to manage and grow key relationships with clients and to market the Firm's services to clients\nMust have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record\n\n
