Description: KBR is seeking a Civil Drafter/Designer to support the design and construction of a variety of projects. The Civil Drafter/Designer will draft architectural/civil/structural design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules under minimal supervision and will be responsible for recognizing project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team. Additional responsibilities include structural modeling and design deliverables in Autodesk REVIT and assist in developing detailed design documents (civil, concrete, structural steel, architectural, etc.) to be used in construction packages using REVIT software.

***MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Government security clearance***

Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards

• Being knowledgeable of civil material specifications to the extent that all information required for material purchase, fabrication and construction is reflected on the finished drawings.

• Coordinating models and drawings with multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Piping/Plumbing including assisting in utility routing

• Coordinating design input and markups from engineering leads

• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.

• Performing field related work, collecting design information, and verifying designs for tie-ins, function and clearances to existing facility.

• Working with the BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent results and incorporate new design into the existing facility models

• Checking the accuracy and quality of drawings developed by other drafters

• Adhering to CAD standards and design standards as required per client and/or project.

• Producing quality drawings

• Assisting in presenting 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams

Requirements:

• Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines

• Must be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; prioritize and communicate assignments

• Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments as necessary

• Must be able to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Autodesk REVIT proficiency is required for the position

• Associate Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or Certificate in Drafting

• 4 + years of relevant industrial experience in architectural/civil/structural drafting and design

• DoD clearance preferred

• Experience developing fabrication (LOD 400) level drawing packages

• Autodesk Civil 3D software proficiency preferred

• Ability to create accurate architectural/civil/structural construction documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.

• Knowledge and understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines.

• Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce architectural/civil/structural deliverables.

• Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.

• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Good presentation skills.

Basic Compensation:

$34.43 - $51.64

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

 

 Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
