We are seeking a skilled Designer Drafter to join our team in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MicroStation and Open Roads Design software, as well as expertise in the Storm Flow modules. You will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings, plans, and models for various civil engineering projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and other infrastructure developments.
Responsibilities
+ Utilize MicroStation and Open Roads to develop design drawings and specifications for civil engineering projects.
+ Create and manage 3D models, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections.
+ Implement Storm Flow modules to analyze drainage systems and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
+ Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
+ Prepare detailed documentation, including reports, presentations, and project summaries.
+ Review and modify designs based on feedback and changing project needs.
+ Conduct quality control checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
+ Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Essential Skills
+ Associate degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
+ Proven experience using MicroStation and Open Roads Design software; experience with Storm Flow modules is highly desirable.
+ Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ 2+ years of experience in Civil Drafting, particularly in roadways, drainage systems, and other infrastructure developments.
+ Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Bentley Systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
+ Proficiency in survey software and land surveying.
+ Experience in transportation engineering and highway design.
+ Knowledge of topography and land development.
Work Environment
You will be working in a cozy and quiet office environment with your own workspace and computer. The company operates in numerous markets including municipal, state, federal, utility, education, commercial, residential, energy, and transportation. The work hours are flexible, typically M-F from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The company values a family-oriented environment and work-life balance, offering flexibility for remote days and accommodating personal commitments. Comfortable work attire is acceptable, and all travel expenses such as hotels, air travel, meals, and mileage will be covered. Employees will also earn 1 week of PTO and paid holidays while on contract.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
