Civil - Earth Works Inspector for Solar Project

Key Responsibilities:

 

Review and understand the project drawings, specifications, and construction methodology for earthworks and civil works. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of earthworks such as site clearing, grading, excavation, backfilling, and compaction. Verify that the materials used (e.g., soil, aggregates) meet the specified requirements and standards. Oversee the implementation of erosion and sediment control measures on-site. Monitor the construction of foundations, roads, drainage systems, and other civil structures to ensure compliance with the design. Coordinate with the construction team to address any non-conformities or issues identified during inspections. Document all inspection activities, findings, and corrective actions taken in accordance with Bureau Veritas procedures. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on the status of civil and earthworks activities. Assist in the preparation of inspection reports and other project documentation as required. Ensure that all construction work is carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control procedures. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and standards. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the construction team. Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices for solar project construction. Certification or training in construction inspection or quality assurance is preferred. Proficient in using relevant software and tools for construction inspection and documentation. Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing project requirements.
