We are currently seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to provide engineering support for a variety of Water Resources Projects across Florida, including the Everglades Restoration, floodplain restorations, stormwater master planning, and the design of stormwater treatment facilities. This role is essential in delivering engineering expertise and Quality Assurance for significant projects, such as the C-43 Reservoir.

 

Your Role:

·         Provide civil engineering support for Water Resources Projects, including Everglades Restoration, floodplain restorations, stormwater master planning, and water quality improvement projects.

·         Support the Quality Assurance team for the C-43 Reservoir, overseeing the construction and ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.

·         Serve as a task lead for quality assurance reviews on definable features of work, including soil cement placement, wave run-up walls, soil bentonite cutoff walls, and other project components.

·         Review and document the contractor’s efforts compared to plans and specifications, ensuring adherence to project requirements.

·         Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to oversee the construction of the C-43 Reservoir.

·         Oversee construction contractors to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

·         Collect construction observations using iPads and other digital devices, storing data daily in an online GIS database.

·         Provide Civil 3D CAD work for "As Built" drawings and 3D modeling.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical/Mining Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

·         5+ years of experience in civil or geotechnical engineering and field investigations.

·         Strong academic background and solid understanding of civil engineering related to water resources in Florida.

·         Experience working on dams and/or levees.

·         Experience with projects for the South Florida Water Management District is a plus.

·         Excellent communication, report writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

·         Willingness to work outdoors on occasion and in a variety of climate conditions.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CAD Civil 3D.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
