Under General supervision, creates basic to moderately complex engineering designs (drawings and specifications) involving site layout/development, site grading and drainage, water distribution systems, sanitary collection systems/lift stations, process piping, pavement designs, storm water infrastructure and storm water pollution prevention. Performs detailed calculations to support the design including hydraulics/hydrology, conduit sizing, retention basins, lift stations, and pavement. Performs site walk-downs as required to verify the survey and support the design. Reviews designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that the firms’ policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) specifications/requirements. Familiar with the required permitting related to Civil design. May attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.
