Civil Engineer - Indianapolis, IN We are actively hiring for a mid-level Civil Engineer with 4-20+ years of experience in Transportation and/or Storm Water Engineering to join an Engineering, Design, and Inspection Services team in Indianapolis, IN! This person will be working with the Sr Project Management team to work on Municipal, Public Work, Trail, Road, and Storm Master Plan Projects across Central Indiana. This position will be working with a WBE / DBE organization and will have the opportunity to move quickly into a Project Management career path where they can work with a variety of tasks and project types in the Civil Sector. Due to the smaller nature of the team, this is a great opportunity to gain industry experience and make a positive impact more quickly and effectively than with larger teams - While maintaining a consistent and stable workload and project pipeline. For candidates with more years of experience, this is a great way to positively impact the team and projects with their experience while working in a positive environment. Candidates can take on a variety of different responsibilities while supporting a mixture of project types and advancing within a smaller organization. Job Responsibilities: + Observe and monitor construction for conformance with contract documents and approved shop drawings/material submittal. + Record field observations, monitor contractor's quality control, and verify construction conforms to contractor's quality control plan. + Make field measurements, computations, and records of acceptable work. + Prepare and maintain project records in accordance with the company's, client's, and government's standards. + Assist the S r Project Manager by performing the following tasks: + Quantity calculations & design computations + Geometric design of transportation infrastructure + Roadway design and INDOT process & procedure + Traffic signal/lighting design + Drainage design, pipe sizing, inlet spacing, culvert design & permitting + Utility coordination Job Requirements: + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an Accredited College or University + 4-20+ Years of Experience in Transportation or Water Resources Engineering (i.e.: Storm Water, Drainage) + E.I.T. License with ability to get the P.E. License (P.E. License preferred) + Preferred but Not Required - Experience with Local and State Government Standards + Preferred but Not Required - Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D + Preferred but Not Required - Experience with Project Management Miscellaneous: + This is a first shift position with a flex schedule that can start between 7am to 9am. This person will typically work between 40 to 50 hours per week. + This office is in downtown Indianapolis and offers a nice environment with a casual feel that is still deadline-driven. It does not feel corporate or stuffy. + Employees have the ability to see projects from start-to-finish, and will have the chance to get more involved with projects than the typical Civil firm allows. + The office is setup in cubicles, and this person will work with Junior Engineers and CAD Technicians to complete projects + Candidates will have the opportunity to stay in production or move into Project Management. + Candidates can work on a variety of different projects and not be pigeon-holed into one type. + Starting compensation will depend on candidate's experience and license status.
