Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive site civil engineering plans and detailed reports, as well as managing permitting processes. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology, and hydraulic software, and experience in designing site-related elements for various development projects.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare comprehensive site civil engineering plans, including site and paving plans, grading plans, erosion control plans, horizontal control plans, utility plans, and off-site street improvement plans.Prepare detailed hydrologic and hydraulic calculations/reports and water quality management plans and reports.Create Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).Conduct thorough research and manage permitting processes for various sites.Take projects from start to finish, including reviewing plans, grading, calculations, and reports with oversight from a Project Manager.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from a U.S.-accredited college or university.E.I.T. certification or professional engineering licensure.4-7 years of experience in civil engineering.Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology, and hydraulic software.Experience in designing site-related elements for retail, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, hospitality, or mixed-use development/redevelopment projects.Commercial project experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in retail design, paving, grading, commercial construction, industrial construction, multi-family construction, hospitality, mixed-use, erosion control, utility plan, street maintenance, hydrologic, hydraulic design, water quality, and stormwater.Work Environment

Our Irvine office is a smaller satellite branch with 10 employees on-site, including a site leader, admin staff, project managers, and engineers. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days a week and remote work for two days after the first three months of training. Core hours are from 10 am to 3 pm, with flexible start and end times between 7-9 am and 4-5:30 pm. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00

**401(k) with Company Match**: The raSmith 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan allows employees to save for their future through payroll deductions, with a 50% company match on the first eight percent of wages after six months of employment. Funds are vested after three years.
