Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. You will be working on site and land development projects for various clients in Indiana and Ohio. The majority will be private development projects such as: Residential Subdivisions; Commercial and Retail Site; Multi Family Site (apartments and condos); and Industrial Sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth, with potential to become a Professional Engineer (PE) and move into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities

Conduct site assessments to determine suitability for construction projects, including environmental impact studies and feasibility analysis.Create detailed site designs, including grading, drainage, roadways, utilities, and other infrastructure elements.Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations.Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports.Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications to relevant authorities.Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project progress.Address any issues that arise during the design and construction phases.Incorporate sustainable design principles to minimize environmental impact.Essential SkillsBachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering2+ years of experience in Site Development or Transportation engineering (5-10 years preferred)Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, land development, stormwater management, and site developmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with drainage, site layout, grading, stormwater collection, erosion control, utility placement, streetscape design, and landscape designWork Environment

The office is small, with a total of 8 people including engineers and designers. It offers a laid-back atmosphere with a first shift position from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility on start and end times. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $41.00
