We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating preliminary design concepts and detailed plans for site layouts, water, sewer mains, roads, storm drain design, soil erosion, sedimentation control plans, construction stormwater plans, floodplain studies, and grading plans. Additionally, you will assist other team members and management in achieving department goals and objectives.
ResponsibilitiesServe as the Lead Designer and technical resource to the team, ensuring quality control of plan submissions.Resolve issues with agencies, clients, and staff/departments.Coordinate land development projects with clients, agencies, and internal staff.Act as Project Manager, monitoring the entitlement process and coordinating with all departments.Serve as the client’s point of contact, ensuring client satisfaction.Read and interpret survey data, legal descriptions, government standards, and codes, applying them to design.Prepare site and subdivision plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects including stormwater management, storm sewer plans and profiles, outfall analysis, sanitary sewer plans and profiles, water line plans and profiles, water network analysis, public street design, erosion and sediment control plans, fire lane plans, pavement designs, pavement striping and signage plans, maintenance of traffic plans, bond estimates, and bond reductions.Assist clients with bonding and permitting procedures.Support other company departments in preparing re-zonings, infill lot grading plans, and preliminary plats.Attend evening meetings as needed.Engage with industry-related associations/organizations.Top Skills & Qualifications:At least 3-5+ years of experience designing with Civil 3D.At least 3 years of permitting experience in Prince George's County.Proficiency in design, civil engineering, civil 3D, land development, stormwater management, site development, civil design, drainage, grading, and site planning.Experience with Maryland SWM and ESC regulations is a plus.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Work Environment
