CIVIL ENGINEER / PROGAM MANAGER - INDIANAPOLIS, IN

We are actively hiring a Civil Engineer to join a newly established division within a local Civil Engineering firm. This division will focus on large, multi-phase, multi-departmental projects for Municipalities (Cities, Towns, Counties) across Indiana. The growing team will consult and assist the Municipal clients with a variety of different Civil Engineering projects and initiatives and will act as an outsourced City Engineering consultant. 

Projects will include a wide range of Civil Engineering disciplines: Site Development; Roads, Streets, Bridges; Water Resources; Water/Wastewater. Project examples include (but are not limited to) a new Fire Station, an expansion of a Police Station, the development of a new Town Park, and the Design Review for a Subdivision. Projects can include one phase or the entire concept through completion. One client asked for assistance with Funding, Preliminary design, Demolition of Buildings, Adding New Roads, Site Development, Construction Oversight, and Partnering with Construction Contractors and Officials throughout the entire process. 

This person will have the ability to work alongside the new Department Lead and Municipal clients to plan, design, and construct projects. This person will be the second employee in this new division and will be trained and developed directly by the Department Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in working on a variety of Projects and Responsibilities, and in building a brand-new department from ground-up.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for performing Engineering and Management duties on a wide array of engineering projects, with a larger focus on Program Management under Water Resources. Other projects will range from small Building Demolitions or specialty Equipment Purchases to large Owner’s Technical Representation on Alternative Procurement Programs that span multiple departments. Additional responsibilities include: 

Development of Company Design AgreementsMaster Planning and Study ReportsProcurement and Contract Review on behalf of the ClientProgram Management Assistance for the Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) ProgramConstructability and Value Engineering ReviewsCivil/Site Plan ReviewProgram Budget Management and Pay Application ProcessingComplete Technical Design, Engineering Calculations, and Communication on projectsCollaborate with others and work independently to approach challenges and develop solutionsManage multiple responsibilities while adhering to timely completion of tasksCoordinate with technical personnel to develop Construction Documents and Specifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field (Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering)Strong Soft Skills: Effective Communicator, Self-Motivated, Organized, and Detailed-OrientedPreferred but Not Required – Ability and desire to become a Professional EngineerPreferred but Not Required – Civil 3D or AutoCAD experience

COMPENSATION DETAILS

Compensation will depend on specific Civil Engineering experience: 0 years of experience – $31/hour to $32/hour1-3 years of experience – $32/hour to $35/hour4+ years of experience – $35+/hour (negotiable)All candidates will receive 1.5x for Overtime hours workedAnnual Bonuses based on Individual and Company performanceAnnual Pay Raises (paid every year for 20 years straight)401k Profit Sharing Plan

EXPECTED SCHEDULE

Standard Hours are Monday-Thursday from 7am-4:30pm and Friday from 7am-12noonHybrid WFH schedule up to 2 days per week after first 60-90 days of employmentFrequent visits to Client sites and offices in various Towns, Cities, and CountiesFlexibility available for start and end times as needed

MISCELLANEOUS

This is a Project Management / Program Management role that allows Civil Engineers the ability to touch all Civil Engineering disciplines and tasks: Design, Master Planning, Production, Contract Review, Scheduling, and Client Interactions.This is a brand-new Department within the company, so this person will have the ability to grow and build something while developing their own skills as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager. This new Department is being established due to an increase in demand from Municipal clients. This company has very low turnovers, as employees tend to like the company and stick around.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $73000.00
