Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Description

Formed in 1971, our client is one of the largest multi-disciplined consulting engineering firms in the Northern Virginia area, serving clients in the Northern Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia for over 50 years. Under the guidance of a licensed engineer (P.E.), this position will work with a project team to design a variety of projects, including industrial, commercial, and residential sites throughout Northern VA and Eastern, WV.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop civil engineering projects using AutoCAD, Carlson, and Civil 3D software.Prepare and review project schematics, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.Conduct project scheduling and manage timelines effectively.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.Utilize GIS and construction estimating tools for accurate project planning.Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns.Assist in technical writing and documentation for project proposals and reports.Create and run electronic hydraulic models for water and sewer systems, including static and extended period simulations as needed.Put together site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.Assist Project Managers and Engineers in the planning and design of hydraulic and storm water collection systems.Essential SkillsEIT (or PE) license preferred.Minimum 2-5+ years of land development experience.Ability to assist Project Managers and Engineers in the planning and design of hydraulic and storm water collection systems.Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in the design and development of land development projects.Flexibility in managing job tasks as deadlines and priorities change.Desire to work in a team environment.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.Additional Skills & QualificationsResponsiveness and service-oriented mindset.Honesty and strong communication skills.Get-it-done mentality and grit.Work/life balance and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.Versatility to handle multiple tasks and projects.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $110000.00
