Civil Engineer
Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description Seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to impact the design and engineering of complex bridge and transportation projects. The candidate will be tasked with understanding project scopes, providing detailed designs, and analyzing bridges and small roadway upgrades across a multitude of clients including ODOT, turnpike, local municipalities, and occasional private sector projects. Responsibilities + Perform engineering, construction, and design assignments requiring a solid grasp of at least one engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgment. + Typically given projects of minor complexity; may have leadership responsibility for less experienced staff. + Perform work under close supervision and provide support to more experienced personnel. + Perform field testing of soils, concrete, observation testing of water, sewer mains, and pavements. + Provide clear and concise documentation of all project activities and quantities. + Perform analyses and design required for minor structures, systems, and equipment. + Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians. + Review and check detailed drawings and layouts. + Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials, or engineering methods. + Assist in the preparation of contract/proposals specifications and construction cost estimates. + Review Contractor's shop drawing submittals. + Perform construction monitoring and coordinate field activities. + Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + B.S in Civil Engineering; focus on structural is a plus. + 1+ years of experience within AutoCAD/Civil3D with a focus on bridge or transportation projects. + EIT or the ability to obtain within 1 year. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 3+ years of structural or civil design experience. + Experience with structural analysis for bridges. Work Environment Office environment. Can sit in either Cleveland or Columbus markets, both renovated offices. May be required to meet on-site with clients as well, but minimal travel will be involved. Flexibility for work from home when necessary and time off for personal reasons. Competitive benefits and pay for the current market.
