Job Description
The Civil Engineer/Designer will assist with the daily operations of specific projects, focusing on plan production, quality assurance, and technical engineering. The role involves supporting the Project Manager with technical design in AutoCAD 3D and executing pre-established engineering design tasks related to site civil engineering, including road design, utilities, storm drain and storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and sediment and erosion control. Additionally, the Civil Engineer will occasionally assist with client contact and phone calls.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily operations of specific projects, focusing on plan production, quality assurance, and technical engineering.Support the Project Manager with technical design in AutoCAD 3D.Execute pre-established engineering design tasks related to site civil engineering, such as road design, utilities, storm drain and storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and sediment and erosion control.Occasionally assist with client contact and phone calls.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with at least 3-5 years of experience.Experience in land development or transportation design for at least 3-5 years.Familiarity with Montgomery, Baltimore County, or DC permitting with at least 1-2 years of experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsA degree in civil engineering is ideal, especially for those seeking permanent employment. However, a degree is not required for the temporary position.Experience in Civil 3D is preferred, but AutoCAD experience is the minimum requirement.Background in civil engineering is preferred. However, candidates with a background in structural or architectural engineering will also be considered.Experience in hydraulics and hydrology is a huge plus.Work Environment
The company has around 15 employees, creating a close-knit environment with frequent company outings. Due to the smaller size of the firm, engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide scope of the project, unlike larger firms where they might only focus on one aspect of the project.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $45.67/hr.
