Overview ***This position is physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP*** Under the general direction of the Trades Shop Supervisor, the Civil Engineer will oversee all designs, plans, coordinating, and execution of all projects to include construction of new buildings and bridges, or alterations and extensions to existing properties or other structures, while ensuring all timelines are met within scopes and budgets. The Civil Engineer role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets. Work closely with the Trade Shop Supervisor to ensure that all subcontractors project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly. Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates. Monitor project costs, manage budgets. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines. Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope. Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred Must possess a Philippine Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain a V2X Site access badge. Experience: Experience developing schematics for Facilities, structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards. Professional work experience in developing blueprints and designs for proposed structures. Extensive knowledge and experience working with various operating systems Experience with software engineering, customer experience and design architecture Skills: Project development and leadership skills are essential Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan Advanced understanding of build materials, techniques and processes Up to date understanding of best practices regarding building safety measures Supervisory Responsibilities: General Supervision of assigned staff Working Conditions: Works in a general office environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent tropical storms, and temperatures averages from 60 to 100 degrees throughout all the seasons (winter, spring, summer, fall). Driving for an extensive period of time (~ 2 hrs.) may be required and will be dependent on assigned work location. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required. Such PPE includes, but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
