We are seeking qualified candidates for a Summer Engineering Internship to support the Dams and Hydro group within the Energy business center. This is a terrific opportunity for a college senior/graduate student to support a number of exciting projects while learning important skillsets.
Our Dams and Hydro team includes a multidisciplinary staff, including civil, geotechnical/geologic, and water resource engineers that specializes in the planning, analysis, design, and construction of water storage, water conveyance and hydropower projects including:
Hydraulic Structures including Spillways and Outlet Works
Tunnels & Shafts for Pipelines

Assist in developing proposals, including project scheduling, and developing cost estimates.
Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
Performing simple calculations, computer data entry, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, design, and cross-training.
Assist in writing technical documents such as calculation packages, geotechnical data reports, design reports, and specifications.
Support field investigations and the assessment of subsurface conditions by reviewing drilling and test pit logs, in-situ testing data, and other pertinent field documentation.
Performing research and contacting vendors for information.
Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines. Your Capabilities and Credentials

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma and enrollment in an accredited engineering program required.
Completion of at least 3 years of undergraduate coursework towards pursuing a degree in civil engineering (non-structural) or similar is required.
Post-graduate academic experience is preferred.
