Civil Engineering Internship – 2025

We are on the search for an incredible student to join us for our Summer Internship program in our Eugene, OR office. Our summer internships run from May to August or June to September, depending on your school schedule. We are seeking students who want to be challenged, are ready to join a team and dive into project work, problem solve and ask questions. Our teams of PE’s, EIT’s and Civil Designers are happy to show you the ropes and get you up to speed on Civil3D, which you will be using from day one. You will have opportunities to design, produce plans, research, and go on site visits.  Additionally, you will have access to our monthly KPFF-U continuing education presentations, vendor lunch and learns, and our Intern Training Program.

 

Our office operates on a hybrid schedule with an expectation of 3 days a week in-office (after in-office onboarding) and the flexibility to work from home 2 days, but you are welcome to work in the office every day.

 

Qualifications

·         Currently enrolled in a BSCE program and at a junior or senior level

·         Available for the entire 3-month duration (our internship program includes a 10-session training course)

·         Available to work full-time (40 hours per week; Monday-Friday) Pay = $24/hour

·         Effective written and verbal communication

·         Able to work effectively in a team environment and on an individual basis

·         Strong organizational and time management abilities

The Portland Civil + Survey office (including Eugene and Washington DC staff) consists of 106 employees including 41 PEs and 3 PLSs. Our Eugene office includes 19 employees. We are proud to share that 28% of our staff are former interns. Our core Civil practice focuses on site development, public utility and roadway infrastructure, parks and trails, and innovative stormwater management. Our Survey team focuses on boundary staking, topo surveying, construction layout, drone missions, and building inspections. We work on many different and exciting design projects including education and healthcare facilities, national parks, cultural centers, zoos and museums, as well as government and international facilities. We believe in encouraging personal and professional growth, and we work hard at providing a solid structure with minimal organizational restrictions.
